The days are getting longer and warmer. The trees are springing to life with new leaves and little flowers. Mario is patiently watching the apple tree to see the first little fruits start to develop. Hopefully this year he wont pull them off before they ripen. This weekend we are planning on putting some flowers in so that he can watch them grow and so he can have his own flowers to pick. It is just a beautiful time of the year.It is made even more beautiful by a little boys birthday. It is a time where I think about Marios birth mother and what lead her to leaving her little boy in the care of the hospital. I wonder what she thinks about at this time of the year. I write my letter to her to fill her in on the year and the special memories that have been created. It may never go anywhere and we may never ever meet her but if it happens and she wants my thoughts and feelings they will be there.
Of course a 3 year old is not thinking about the same things that mummy is thinking about. For him it was presents and party food and playing with friends. We had a lovely party at home with a Thomas the Tank Engine theme and lots of Thomas presents - thank you to everyone it made Marios day. It was fun preparing and fun at the party and the clean up was .... ugh and my feet were ready to rest and my eyes ready for sleep. Then we did it all again the next day at another little friends party. Spring is definitely the time of new life!
And so my little boy is growing up. At times he seems older than his years and other times just a little boy and other times a little devil with tantrums and tears that leave me wondering what is happening and other times he is an angel with manners that make you melt. All that I am sure is part of a childs persona and to keep mummy and daddy on their toes. It also leaves me pulling my hair out and needing time out to get my head around what is happening but then there are other times when I just sit there and watch him and feel the love that is in my heart for him. Life is sure exciting and wonderful with him around.

Happy Birthday, Mario! Great cake, Karen! Did you do that yourself?! Blessings,
yes - it is one of those crazy things I put myself through but I also get a great sense of satisfaction at the end of it all
